Helen Kessell, Chair of Care And Repair steps down

At our recent AGM at the end of 2018, Helen Kessell decided to step down as Chair after a spell of 5 years.  Helen and the Board have witnessed many changes during her time in charge of Care and Repair and have faced many challenges including ever tightening funding and budgets, personnel and management changes, introduction of the new HSCP and integrated service requirements, technology integration and introduction of new services and much more.  The Board thanked Helen for her time, direction and guidance provided during her time as Chair.  Helen will remain as a Board member ensuring that her experience and knowledge continues to benefit the Board and Care And Repair.

At our January 2019 meeting Tony Davey BEM, new Chair of Care And Repair, presented Helen with a lovely bouquet of flowers on behalf of the Board.

Due to the current coronavirus situation we are having to change some of the ways we currently work.

At present, until further notice, our Housing Support Officers will continue to support Occupational Therapy, Telecare and Social Work to install critical and urgent minor aids and adaptations, technology enabled care equipment and safety and security items in vulnerable clients homes.

Our Care And Repair Officers, dealing with grant approvals work for major adaptations, will be working from home and will continue to assist and support clients by phone and online, but will not be carrying out any new home visits until further notice.

Our Oban office staff will be working remotely until further notice but can still be contacted on 01631 567780 or on enquiries@abcarerepair.co.uk at any time 09.00 till 17.00, Mon to Fri.

Care and Repair staff will be trying to support our health and social care partners and community efforts in any way we can throughout this developing situation. Please feel free to contact us to discuss anything you feel we may be able to assist you with.

In the meantime, stay safe and well,
